Our History
The USGRI Story
Washington Roots. Decades of Relationships. A New Chapter in Strategic Growth.
The USGRI name was born in Washington, D.C., where Jeffrey Taylor built U.S. Government Relations around relationships, market intelligence and the ability to connect organizations with opportunity. Years later, Jay Taylor brings that experience forward through USGRI Strategic Growth.
The beginning
Built in Washington.
The original USGRI grew out of Jeffrey Taylor's work in the Washington government-affairs community. He built the firm in an environment where credibility, access, timing and trusted relationships mattered, and where understanding the people and forces shaping a market could be every bit as important as the service being offered.
Those principles became part of the USGRI identity: know the landscape, understand the decision-makers, build meaningful relationships and recognize opportunity early.
Jay Taylor and USGRI
A Family Connection Became a Professional Foundation.
Jay Taylor later joined his older brother's firm in a senior business development role, helping identify opportunities, develop client relationships and expand the organization's reach.
Opportunity Starts Before the Sale.
Jay's work reinforced a lesson that still drives USGRI today: strong business development begins with understanding the market, the buyer and the relationships surrounding an opportunity long before a proposal is submitted.
Networks Create Market Intelligence.
Years spent working across government relations, public affairs, professional communities and business development created a network that continues to inform how USGRI identifies markets, people, signals and opportunities.
